Lyre meteor shower
Do you know “The Lyre”, one of the constellations?
It is the summer constellation, and is constituted by Vega and parallelogram of four stars.
Thought “The Lyre” is called “Koto-za” in Japanese, it does not represent the shape of the Koto (Japanese traditional musical instrument), of course.
The Lyre is the ancient Greek harp.
In the Greek myths, it has been said that Orpheus used that harp.
“The Lyre” is the summer constellation, but we can see the meteor shower around it in April.
This year, in 2017, its peak is from about 21:00 on April 22 until 3:00am on April 23, in Tokyo.
The story of Orpheus is sad myths.
But it might be good to see the meteor stars with while thinking about the sound of that harp.
