Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments
Many Japanese people eat eel to get energy during the hot summer seasons.
Speaking of eel, it reminds me of Hamamatsu!
Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Prefecture is famous for eels.
And speaking of Hamamatsu City, Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments is also recommended!
Hamamatsu City is called a city of musical instruments because there are World-class musical instrument manufactures like Yamaha, Kawai, and Roland in the city.
So, I introduce the Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments today.
In this museum, musical instruments around the world are displayed.
The number of collections is 3,300!
Moreover, you can listen to the sound of those instruments.
You can see various kinds of koto in their collections.
In addition to the common koto, which we usually see well, there are also single-stringed Japanese zither called Ichigenkin, 2-stringed Japanese zither called Nigenkin, and beautiful decorated Koto called Nagaiso.
There is a koto (ordinary thirteenth string koto) in the experience corner.
The score of 'Sakura' is pasted on the wall there.
Anyone can try to play it while watching the score.
When I went there, many visitors, both Japanese and foreigners, are challenging it.
People who wanted to play had been coming one after another.
So, the sound of the koto kept flowing throughout the hall.
I’m sure everyone has an interest in it!
It takes a considerable amount of time to look around the museum.
Re-entry is possible during the day.
I suggest you take a break on the way. And how about “eel” for lunch?
Why do not you go to Hamamatsu during summer vacation?
